Used equipment PHI The model M343 is used to cold-form pipe ends to a 90 degree flange. This method of fabricating lap joint provides significant labor savings when compared with a hot flange forming process, or when compared to welding a pre-fabricated flange to the pipe ends. The flange is manufactured using a rotary spinner head and a flanging mandrel that rolls the pipe end while the pipe is held stationary in a flanging die. CAPACITY: POWER DRIVE: MACHINE JAWS: FORMING MECHANISM: The angular position of the flanging mandrel is changed as the flange is rolled. This angular change is achieved using an air cylinder connected through a drive chain to the flanging yoke. The cylinder time used in forming is governed by the traverse speed of the air cylinder. This speed may be varied by adjustment of the flow valve. These adjustments allow the production of good, flat flanges for a variety of pipe sizes and materials. Other adjustments allow compensation for variations in wall thickness.
